Sunday evening forecast Jan 5th

Beautiful Winter weather continues across the entire region as high pressure holds firm. As is normal, when storm systems traverse the Pacific and then crash southward just to our east on the back of high pressure, we stay dry and usually see some wind. That's what we are seeing as we head toward the early part of Monday.  Look for mostly sunny skies with just a few clouds at times. Winds will be from the north and northeast and could be strong. A Wind Advisory and Warning are posted for portions of Ventura & Santa Barbara Counties through early Monday. Gusts could exceed 65-mph below the most favored passes and canyons. In addition, another High Surf Advisory will also be in play once again as another northwest swell builds along the coast. Temperatures on Monday will remain mostly seasonal with highs in the 60's and low 70's.
Looking ahead, things will likely remain fairly quiet as high pressure keeps the procession of Pacific storms to our north. As they slide south and east of us, the northerly and northeasterly flow/winds will remain as well. Temperatures through much of next week should warm slightly and then cool to near normal or just below by late in the work week. Our computers do see a slight chance for showers by next weekend. But, with the pattern now, it's a safe bet we will need to monitor this closely as we could just see another *inside slider* & once again see just some wind and partly cloudy skies.  We will watch with hopeful eyes as it would be very nice to get some more rain!
