Tuesday evening forecast June 8th

A gradual warming trend is expected through early next week, prompting decreasing low level clouds through the second half of the week. Gusty sundowner winds will impact southern Santa Barbara County coastal and mountain areas through the week, with peak winds likely Wednesday and Thursday night. As temperatures rise valleys will be soar well above average, with highs in the 90s to triple digit heat.

A Wind Advisory is in effect across southern Santa Barbara County coastal and mountain areas through Wednesday at 3 AM. Northwest to north winds will range 20 to 30 mph, with gusts between 35 to 45 mph. Isolated wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible between Refugio and Gaviota.

A parked trough over the Northwest is allowing for night to morning cloud cover over the Central Coast. Low level clouds will clear quickly leading to mostly sunny skies by the afternoon. Cloud cover will also become less extensive each day through early next week leading to hot valleys.

Due to a massive ridge of high pressure centered over northern, Mexico temperatures will warm. As the warm air mass expands further southwest this will prompt further warming. Most areas can expect to reach above average conditions by Saturday.
