Following a weak onshore flow expect some coastal clouds and patchy fog otherwise conditions are staying mostly clear through the week. This will allow for some cooling Monday and Tuesday but warmer temperatures and stronger winds return for Wednesday and Thursday. Looking ahead, a more significant cooling trend will pick up from Friday and into the weekend.
Low level clouds that greeted the coastline on Monday will gradually clear to sunny skies. Despite some cooling in the forecast it will still be a warm day, with interior valleys staying 8 to 12 degrees above average. Daytime highs along the coast in the 70s to 80s. Interior valleys and mountains will warm in the 80s to 90s.
Tuesday morning we expect more coastal clouds leading to further cooling. By Wednesday afternoon offshore trends will be favored allowing for sunny skies, warmer temps and breezy winds.
At this time the strongest winds could be expected on Thursday as pressure gradients tighten. The ridge of high pressure will weaken into Friday, with all the of the cool air advection allowing for a 10 to 20 degree cool down. The warmest temperatures by then are expected to be 2 to 3 degrees below average.
