Wednesday morning forecast May 20th

Santa Barbara, Calif. - Tuesday was another bright and blustery day for the California Central Coast and South Coast, and that weather trend will continue today. After a few low-level clouds over the inland valleys and along some coastal areas this morning, we can expect more sunshine, wind and warmth this afternoon. Highs will range from the upper 60s to the upper 70s.

A ridge of high pressure will build over California on Thursday, which will weaken the wind while it warms our temperatures. That warming trend comes to a screeching halt Friday with more onshore flow from a disturbance to our north. This weekend and early next week, though, another rige builds overhead, and that will lead to another warming trend through Tuesday.

Daytime highs will be at or above average for most areas through early next week but will rise to well above average by next Monday and Tuesday. Coastal highs will rise from the upper 60s to the lower 70s, coastal valleys will have highs rise from near 70 to near 80, and inland valleys will warm from the upper 70s to the mid 90s. Overnight lows will remain mild for all areas.
