Friday evening forecast May 14th

Gusty winds and warm temperatures will dominate the Central and South Coasts through Saturday. A Wind Advisory remains in effect for Southern Santa Barbara County coast and mountains until Saturday at 10 AM. North winds will range 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. The strongest winds could be expected near the Santa Ynez range and Montecito.

Strong winds have kicked up sand and dust, prompting an Air Quality Alert for San Luis Obispo County and the Central Coast until Friday at 7 PM.

Due to a modest ridge of high pressure along Southwestern, California warming could be expected through Saturday. This will keep the majority of the coasts and valleys slightly above average with daytime highs in the 70s to low 80s.

A weak front will arrive Sunday bringing light showers, increasing clouds and cooler temperatures. The band of moisture is expected to bring very light amounts from Sunday evening through Monday morning. The best possibility could be expected for San Luis Obispo County with less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Strong winds will return Tuesday and Wednesday with a slow warming trend. This will also allow for a tad more sunshine for the end of the week.
