Tuesday morning weather May 12th

Santa Barbara, Calif. - A weak cold front is moving over the California Central Coast and South Coast this morning, and it will only bring light rain showers to a few locations, mainly along the Central Coast and over the mountains. We can expect a clearer sky for the South Coast, and there will be more afternoon sunshine for the Central Coast. Highs will reach the upper 60s and lower 70s.

After that small disturbance passes our area, we can expect fewer clouds, warmer temperatures and stronger wind for the latter half of the work week with the jetstream in the vicinity. Another onshore push will occur as a trough of low pressure approaches California this weekend and early next week, bringing a cooling trend, more wind, and isolated rain showers.

Daytime highs will slowly rise to above-average levels from this afternoon through Saturday before an equally slow fall toward average early next week. Highs will range from the 60s and lower 70s along the coast to the 70s and lower 80s further inland. Overnight lows will stay above average through early next week, ranging from the upper 40s to the upper 50s.
