Thursday morning forecast May 7th

Santa Barbara, Calif. - It felt more like summer than spring around the California Central Coast and South Coast on Wednesday, and that summerlike feel to the weather isn't finished yet. A Heat Advisory is in effect through 9PM for all coastal areas and the Santa Ynez Valley for unseasonably hot weather for early May. Highs will range from the lower and mid 80s to the mid and upper 90s.

The spring heatwave will come to an end over the next couple of days as onshore flow takes over. The immediate coasts and coastal valleys will cool by around 10 degrees on Friday, with the inland valleys cooling later in the weekend. We will have more marine layer influence early next week, gusty wind next Tuesday and Wednesday, and a slight chance for light rain showers.

Daytime highs will start the seven day period quite hot, but will cool to more seasonable levels by next Wednesday. Highs will be in the 80s and 90s today, cooling to the 60s and lower 70s by the middle of next week. Overnight lows will remain warmer than average through the middle of next week, staying mainly in the 50s, with a few upper 40s and lower 60s possible.
