Tuesday morning forecast May 5th

Santa Barbara, Calif. - A strong ridge of high pressure will continue to bring plenty of sunshine and warmth to the California Central Coast and South Coast today, but more wind is in the forecast, too. It will be windy for everyone, but a High Wind Watch is also in effect for the mountains of Santa Barbara and Ventura counties, and the South Coast, too. Highs will be in the 80s and lower 90s.

The strong ridge will stay in control of our weather for the next several days. The wind will continue on Wednesday through early Thursday before weakening. Most of us will continue to warm through Thursday afternoon, feeling much more like summer than spring. Onshore flow will begin Friday and will last through early next week, cooling our temperatures substantially.

Daytime highs will stay above average through early next week, but it will be well above average the next few days before cooling through next Monday. Highs will begin in the 80s and 90s, before cooling to the upper 60s and 70s. Overnight lows will also stay above average due to gusty wind and increased marine layer clouds ranging from the upper 40s to the lower 60s.
