Monday evening forecast

Santa Barbara, Calif. - An area of low pressure which moved over our region this Sunday and Monday continued to bring strong gusty wind along with plentiful sunshine and above-average highs. The low is retreating to the southeast, and we can expect weaker wind tonight in most areas. Lows will range from the chilly upper 20s inland to the lower 40s along our milder coasts.

A ridge of high pressure will push over California Tuesday through Thursday allowing for quieter weather and an eventual return of the marine layer clouds by Thursday morning. A small disturbance will bring breezes Friday and fewer clouds Saturday. A deeper area of low pressure will bring stronger wind for all areas Sunday, and that wind will continue Monday.

Overnight lows will be below average Tuesday morning but will warm to above-average levels much of the rest of the week. Valleys: upper 20s warming to upper 30s. Coasts: upper 30s warming to upper 40s. Daytime will remain at or above average through next Monday, with Tuesday being the warmest day. Highs will be mainly in the 60s, with a few lower 70s possible.
