Thursday evening forecast

Santa Barbara, Calif - Christmas Day was a wild weather day for the California Central Coast and South Coast, with heavy rain, strong wind, and snow. Most of that storm is gone, but in its wake we can expect a chilly and clear night, with a Frost Advisory in effect for the San Luis Obispo County Coast. Overnight lows will range from near 30 to the lower 40s.

A ridge of high pressure will bring more sunshine to our area Friday and Saturday, but another trough of low pressure will bring more clouds Sunday, and a chance for light rain late Sunday and early Monday. As we exit 2019 on Tuesday and enter 2020 on Wednesday, we'll have fewer clouds and a modest warming of our highs through Thursday.

Overnight lows will begin chilly tonight, but will gradually warm through late next week. Valleys: lower 30s to lower 40s. Coasts: mid and upper 30s to mid 40s. Daytime highs will be fairly consistent and seasonably mild, with modest warming late next week. Valleys: mid to upper 50s and lower 60s. Coasts: lower 60s warming to the mid and upper 60s.
