Monday evening forecast

Santa Barbara, Calif. - Monday was a drier day for the California Central Coast and South Coast compared to Sunday, but the South Coast still received additional rain in the afternoon. We can expect a gradual clearing of the rain clouds tonight, with the potential for some low clouds and areas of fog. Lows will range from the upper 30s inland to the mid and upper 40s along the coast.

Tuesday will be a drier and milder day for most areas while we are between storm systems. Another storm will arrive on Wednesday, Christmas Day, and that will bring moderate rain mainly late Wednesday through early Thursday. The sky will begin to clear late Thursday through Saturday before another trough brings more clouds Sunday and a chance for rain Monday.

Overnight lows will begin fairly seasonable but will cool rapidly late this week when we lose the clouds. Most lows will be in the 40s, with a few 30s inland and lower 50s near the coast. Daytime highs will stay below average for most everyone through next Monday, with Wednesday and Thursday being the coolest. Highs will range from the lower 50s to the lower 60s through Monday.
