SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The 'Battle of the Dons' was won by Santa Barbara as they captured the CIF-SS Division 6 championship in convincing fashion by sweeping El Rancho 25-19, 25-23, 25-19.

It's Santa Barbara's first girls volleyball CIF title since 2008.

Both teams are called the Dons but it was Santa Barbara that lifted the championship plaque.

Junior Shae Delany led the way with 16 kills while fellow junior Annie Knecht dished out 26 assists.

Senior Emma Zuffelato added 10 kills.

After a few losing seasons, Santa Barbara is back on top in girls volleyball and now they get ready for the State playoffs which start on Tuesday.
