San Marcos tennis star Masato Perera cruises into semifinals of the CIF Individual Tournament

SEAL BEACH, Calif. - Masato Perera was dominant in his two matches on Wednesday to advance to the semifinals at the CIF Individual Tournament.

The #2 seed Perera, who will be a senior at San Marcos High School, beat James MacDonald of Brentwood 6-1, 6-0.

Perera then defeated Steve Nguyen 6-2, 6-1 in the quarterfinals.

He was also selected as one of 40 High School All-Americans and will receive recognition at the Newport Beach Yacht Club on Thursday.
