Several local high school basketball players receive All-State honors

SANTA BARBARA, - Bryce Warrecker will play baseball at Cal Poly next year but he could have played college basketball as well.

The Santa Barbara High School senior was named All-State First Team Division II by Cal-Hi Sports.

The 6'8 Warrecker averaged almost 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds per game for the Dons.

Warrecker is the Dons first 2-time All-State First-Team selection since Roberto Nelson in 2008 and 2009.

Oxnard seniors Stacy Johnson and Andrew Ramirez were named All-State Second Team Division II.

They led the Yellow Jackets to a Ventura County single-season record 32 victories this season.

Arroyo Grande senior guards Gage Gomez and Robert Hutchens were honored All-State First Team in Division III.

The Eagles advanced all the way to the CIF-State D3 championship game before it was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Gomez recently signed as a preferred walk-on at UCSB.

St. Joseph junor Jincho Rivera was named All-State Second Team in Division III.
