30th win puts Oxnard boys basketball into CIF semifinal

Oxnard survives in overtime at Palm Springs

PALM SPRINGS, Calif.- The Oxnard Yellow Jackets shook off a slow start and outlasted Palm Springs 61-54 in overtime in a CIF Division 2-A quarterfinal game.

It was Oxnard's 24th consecutive victory as they became just the fifth Ventura County boys basketball team to reach 30 wins in a season.

Oxnard(30-1) will play at Hesperia in Friday's semifinal game.

After trailing after one quarter 16-7 and at the half 27-18, Oxnard stormed back to lead 38-37 after three quarters.

The game went to overtime at 47 before Oxnard pulled out the big road win.
