SANTA BARBARA, Calif.- Cassidy Miller scored a game-high 3 goals as San Marcos beat Santa Barbara 9-4 in the Channel League opener for both teams in girls water polo.

The Royals jumped out to a 4-0 first quarter lead behind goals from Hannah Meyer, Ella Prentice, Miller and Ava Stryker.

After a scoreless second quarter, Santa Barbara found some offense in the second half but the UCLA-bound Miller tallied two more goals to prevent the comeback.
