Ajay Mitchell closes out Cal Poly as UCSB beats the Mustangs for the 11th straight time.

UCSB edges Cal Poly 68-62 for their 11th straight win over the Mustangs.

UC SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - This rivalry continues to be a rout.

UCSB edged Cal Poly 68-62 to win their 11th straight game in this series and the Gauchos have beat the Mustangs 18 times in the past 19 meetings.

Leading 61-60 Ajay Mitchell made an off-balance, 10-foot bank shot plus he was fouled with just 1:14 remaining.

The sophomore converted the 3-point play as the Gauchos improved to 18-3 on the season and a Big West-leading 9-1.

Mitchell finished with 16 points and 8 assists.

Miles Norris tallied a game-high 18 points for UCSB.

Alimamy Koroma led four Mustangs in double-figures with 13 points but they lost their 10th straight league game to fall to 1-10 in the Big West and 7-16 overall.

Cal Poly trailed 35-27 at the half but tied the game at 52 on a three-pointer by Brantly Stevenson with just under 6 minutes to play.

UCSB now leads the all-time series with Cal Poly 81-35.
