UCSB men’s & women’s tennis win Big West titles

The 12th straight match win for UCSB Women's Tennis earned the Gauchos a Big West title.

IRVINE, Calif. - Both the UC Santa Barbara men's and women's tennis teams won Big West championships this weekend. Both squads took down rival Cal Poly in the tournament finals.

The women's team claimed its third title in the last five years on Saturday with a 4-0 win over the Mustangs. The Gauchos are on a 12-match winning streak, the program's longest in 25 years. The team also went undefeated in regular season conference play to claim the regular season crown. You can read more about the win here.

It was a thriller of a final on the men's side on Sunday, with UCSB beating Poly 4-3 and the decisive singles match taking all three sets to tiebreakers. The men's team won its sixth straight conference title. You can read more about the win here.

The two teams will receive their official NCAA Tournament bids early this week.
