Sports journalist Dave Loveton dies at the age of 62

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Former Santa Barbara News-Press sports writer Dave Loveton died on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 after a long battle with cancer.

He was 62 years old.

Since 2006 Loveton was the Sports Information Specialist for Santa Barbara City College and he was the 2021 sole inductee into the SBCC Vaqueros Hall of Fame.

Loveton went to UCSB and lived in Santa Barbara for over 40 years.
