Farmers, Central Coast residents could see a chance of rain overnight

CENTRAL COAST, Calif. – Farmers and Central Coast residents in the Central Coast could see a chance of rain overnight.

Right now the state of California is experiencing a drought.

The possible sprinkle of rain could alleviate the crops surrounding the Central Coast, but farmers say it is not enough.

"When you’re in a drought situation, you need a good rain season," said Ikeda Brothers owner Tom Ikeda. "If not, multiple good rain seasons.”

Farmers aren’t the only ones hoping for some type of rain.

“I really hope there is rain and thunder and lightning because that is the best type of weather,” said Nipomo resident Chloe Echeverria. “We don’t really get that type of weather anymore.”

The feeling is mutual to some in Nipomo, and say it is past due.

“I feel like we’ve kind of been in a continuous drought so it is nice because we need the rain,” said Echeverria,

The chance of rain could happen through Friday.
