Art City Studios supporters are trying to save it from development

Art City's future uncertain in Ventura

VENTURA, Calif.-When Art City Studios in Ventura hosted a reception for artist Ramon Bryne entitled "Composed in Stone" art lovers learned that the future of the art space is uncertain.

Art City Studios founder Paul Lindhard is trying to stay optimistic, but after 37 years he said the property owner is trying to sell it to some brothers interested in developing it.

The space at 197 Dubbers St. has been home to dozens of sculptors and other artists for decades.

Supporters hope people will send letters to city leaders about saving cultural resource.

People who appreciate the space said like tale about $1.7 million to buy it.
