Oxnard man, teen arrested on suspicion of car robbery

VENTURA, Calif. -- Oxnard police arrested two suspects involved in a drive-by car robbery on Tuesday afternoon.
On Tuesday at around 2:15 p.m., Oxnard police responded to reports of a robbery that happened on the 1300 block fo West Iris Street in Oxnard.
At arrival, officers learned that the victims were driving on the 1300 block of West Iris Street when they were stopped by a man who was standing in the middle of the street.
The suspect showed a gun and entered the back seat of the car. A second suspect then showed a knife and also entered into the car. They began to rob the victims of their things before exiting and fleeing from the scene.
Investigators from the Oxnard Police Department Violent Crimes Unit responded to the scene and began an investigation.
Investigators identified the suspects as a 35-year-old Oxnard man and a 16-year-old Oxnard male teen.
Later that afternoon at around 4:10 p.m., investigators found them in a car in the area of Channel Islands Boulevard and J Street.
They conducted a traffic stop on the car and both suspects were taken into custody.
Both the Oxnard man and teen were arrested for the robbery.
The Oxnard man was booked into the Ventura County Jail and the teen was booked into the Ventura County Juvenile Hall.
