Ventura investigators arrest suspect on alleged drug sales, possession

VENTURA, Calif. -- Ventura police arrested a man for alleged possession of large quantities of narcotics on Thursday afternoon.

On Thursday at around 11:00 a.m., Ventura Police Department Special Crimes Unit conducted a probation search at the 200 block of Chestnut Street in Ventura.

Police say the search was a result from a week-long investigation into illegal drug sales.

Detectives were able to identify a primary suspect involved in the illegal drug sales.

During the probation search, detectives found the suspect and detained him.

Police say they found large quantities of illegal drugs including heroin, methamphetamine and alprazolam, inside the suspect's hotel room.

In a search of Ventura County Superior Court, it shows that the suspect had numerous prior arrest for drug-related crimes including narcotics sales.
