Oxnard Police arrest man in fatal stabbing

OXNARD, Calif. -Oxnard Police arrested a man on Wednesday who allegedly killed 67-year-old Sibyl Woodbury, according to a news release from the Oxnard Police Department.

Officers arrested 23-year-old James Beam, a recent transient to Oxnard, according to the police department.

On April 9, officers were called to a report of a female down in the 200 block of West Pleasant Valley Road.

Major Crimes investigators, along with assistance from the Oxnard Police Special Enforcement Unit, Neighborhood Policing Team, Ventura County Combined Agency Task Force and Oxnard Police Homeless Liaison Unit, all working together they were able to discover a potential suspect.

Beam has been charged with the murder of Sibyl Woodbury. His bail is set at $500,000 dollars.
