Ventura County COVID-19 cases now 12,385, 146 deaths

VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. - There were 110 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Ventura County on Wednesday. There are now 12,385 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the county, including 146 deaths.

The county has been releasing updated numbers every weekday on VCEmergency.com.

769 people are under active quarantine and 47 people are currently hospitalized, 12 of whom are in the ICU. 11,470 people are considered to be recovered.

More than 178,000 people have been tested.

The majority of these deaths have occurred in people 65 or older. Five deaths have been reported in people aged 25-44.

Ventura County opened a "mega testing site" that can collect upwards of 1,500 tests per day at the Ventura County Fairgrounds on August 10.

The community is still encouraged to stay at home to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus and wear a facial covering when out in public.
