Oxnard police arrest teen for drugs and firearm charges

OXNARD, Calif. - Oxnard Police officers arrest two people during an enforcement stop in Oxnard on Saturday night.

Oxnard police arrested Luis Villa, 18, Oxnard for several firearm charges.

Officers arrest a second person for misdemeanor narcotics violations.

Police did not provide the identity of the second person arrested.

On Saturday night around 11:30 p.m., two Oxnard Police officers conducted an enforcement stop on a black Ford SUV on the 1700 block of Ukiah Street for vehicle code violations.

Villa, a passenger in the vehicle, immediately fled on foot.

Officers pursued Villa. During the pursuit, officers observed Villa discarding a firearm as he ran.

After a lengthy foot chase, officers were able to apprehend Villa and recover a loaded revolver in the area Villa was observed discarding.

Officers found that the discarded firearm was not registered to Villa.

The second person was also a passenger in the vehicle.
