OXNARD, Calif. - Traffic was stalled in Oxnard late Saturday morning after a stake bed truck overturned near the intersection of Oxnard Boulevard and Gonzales Road.

The crash was called in around 10:58 a.m.

Oxnard police said the truck rolled over while making a turn in the intersection. The truck was carrying a heavy load of concrete cinder blocks which likely contributed to the crash.

While no other vehicles were involved, the cinder blocks were spilled into the roadway. City fire and police responded to help clear the lanes.

Police estimate that the intersection would be blocked for at least a couple of hours. Drivers were advised to use alternate routes.

Oxnard police said the intersection was fully cleared by 2 p.m.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the crash and the driver was the only person inside the truck.

We will update this story as more information becomes available.
