PORT HUENEME, Calif. - Two Port Hueneme Police cruisers were damaged early Sunday morning after crashing into each other while responding to a call.

Police said the two cruisers were on their way to answer a call for service around 1:30 a.m. off the 300 block of West Channel Islands Boulevard when one of the cruisers stopped for a pedestrian.

Unfortunately, the officer driving behind that cruiser didn't have a chance to break in time and ended up crashing into the rear of the vehicle.

The officers involved were checked out at the scene, but neither sustained any injuries. The pedestrian was also uninjured.

The second police cruiser sustained major front end damage from the crash and had to be towed away while the first cruiser took just a bit of damage to the trunk area.

Oxnard police responded as well to investigate and take down the report.
