SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Traffic was delayed after a trailer being pulled by a semi-truck overturned in Santa Maria Friday morning.

It happened around 8:20 a.m. on West Main Street underneath the Highway 101 overpass.

A semi-truck was pulling two trailers for delivery to a produce company on West Main. The truck was going north on Nicholson making a left onto Main.

According to police, the driver "went a little too fast.” As he made the left turn, the second trailer overturned.

A tow truck arrived on scene and they were able to pop up the trailer and clear the scene. Canisters that were used to package strawberries spilled but were picked up from the scene.

Police said that process took a few hours.
