Pregnant woman injured after crash in Santa Maria

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Santa Maria Police and Fire Departments responded to a traffic collision at Cook Street and Pine Street Saturday evening.

Around 11:30 p.m., police said a man ran a red light and collided with the vehicle of a female.

The female, who is pregnant, was not wearing her seatbelt and sustained major injuries. She was transported to Marian Regional Medical Center and is in stable condition.

The man, identified as 25-year-old Juan Najera Santos of Santa Maria, was later arrested by police for a DUI traffic collision with injuries. He was booked at the Santa Barbara County Jail.

No one else was injured in the collision.
