Santa Barbara’s Moxi Museum reopening under ‘Orange Tier’ guidelines

SANTA BARBARA, Calif — COVID-19 cases in California and Santa Barbara County are dropping. The California Department of Public Health reports a positivity rate of 1.3%. Santa Barbara County’s low new cases and case rate allowed the county to reopen in the ‘Orange Tier’ of reopening.

Under the ‘Orange Tier’ of California’s COVID-19 guidelines museums can reopen at 50% capacity inside. 

Kids and their parents are getting their first chances to experiment with MOXI the Wolf Museum of Exploration + Innovation in Santa Barbara. On Thursday The MOXI reopened.

Matt Kruse and his family walked past The MOXI during their trip from Colorado. He said, "We were just cruising by and saw this place was open and has… our daughter is four and she want to check it out. So we popped in."

He added, "It's nice to see places like this starting to open back up. She's just starting to learn a lot. So this has a of very good exhibits she's interested in and inquisitive about."

On Thursday MOXI The Wolf Museum of Exploration + Innovation reopened. Under the reopening, the museum’s staff states capacity will be limited. And reservations are recommended for members and general admission.
