Our very own News Channel’s Christina Rodriguez spoke to Santa Maria High School Students today

SANTA MARIA, Calif. -- What does it take to be a news reporter? That's what some Santa Maria High School students wanted to know today.

Our Very own News Channel reporter Christina Rodriguez spoke to freshman and senior AVID students today... about working in news.

AVID classes help students prepare for college and their careers.

Students heard how AVID classes helped Christina through school.

AVID teacher Shelly Springer tells us they want students to see how AVID can help them achieve their goals.

“We're just really excited to have Christina here to talk to our AVID classes because she was an AVID student and we want them to see how AVID helped her grow. We have two classes of AVID, AVID freshmen and seniors, and they're going to be able to see how AVID can help them," said Springer.

Students learned how our video equipment works.

They also grabbed some photos with Christina on their way out.
