Virtual fundraiser ‘Moving for Hope’ raises $16,000 for Cancer Rehabilitation Fund

SANTA MARIA, Calif. – Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation's 'Moving for Hope' event raised $16,000 to benefit the Cancer Rehabilitation Fund.

The event was held on Saturday, August 15 virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Arroyo Grande Community Hospital.

The hospital said participants formed 11 teams that participated in outdoor activities including: running, walking, cycling, and horseshoes. Donors could also make a general donation to the Moving for Hope event.

All proceeds raised benefit the Cancer Rehabilitation Program at Mission Hope Cancer Center, Arroyo Grande – a personalized exercise and nutrition program that is offered at no cost to cancer patients, according to Arroyo Grande Community Hospital.

The hospital said it plans for expansion in future years because of the success of the 'Moving for Hope' event.
