Marian Regional Medical Center employees protest for a fair contract
SANTA MARIA, Calif. - About a dozen employees at Marian Regional Medical Center protested outside the hospital Monday afternoon.
Demonstrators said they want to negotiate a fair raise for pharmacists and dietitians.
Workers held signs while chanting. Some protesters handed out flyers saying "it's going to take all of us."
Our hope is to have a fair contract and at least keep our current contract that we had as a non union. We want to maintain our wages, our benefits and our scheduling," Marian employee John Studz said.
Marian Regional Medial Center sent us a statement saying it's negotiating a contract with its union. The statement said in part, "Discussions between both sides have been respectful, collaborative, and protective. As always, we remain committed and steadfast to bargaining a fair and equitable contract."
