Thousands line up to see commissioning of one-of-a-kind War Ship named after Santa Barbara

PORT HUENEME, Calif.—The U.S.S. Santa Barbara has officially been commissioned.

This is the 3rd Navy ship to bear the name of Santa Barbara

The first was built over a century ago in 1916.

This littoral combat ship features the latest innovative technology.

It will be leaving Port Huneme making its way to San Diego On Monday.
