Sheriff’s deputies arrest 30-year-old man connected to Isla Vista assault cases

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. – The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office said that home security video helped deputies make an arrest on Saturday in an Isla Vista sexual assault case.

On Saturday around 3:50 p.m., deputies arrested a 30-year-old Port Hueneme man on Ocean Avenue and A Street in Lompoc.

The Sheriff's Office said the man was booked at the Main Jail on a Ramey warrant for sexual battery (felony) and indecent exposure (felony).

His bail is set at $1,000,000.

Investigators said that home security footage showed the 30-year-old in his car, which helped the investigators confirm his identity.

The investigation is still ongoing, and the Sheriff's Office said anyone with information about the case is encouraged to contact Sheriff's detectives at 805-681-4171.
