Firefighters put out fire near 101 freeway in Santa Barbara

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Santa Barbara firefighters put out a fire near the southbound 101 freeway on Saturday afternoon.

It started before 4 p.m.

Drivers could see the plume of smoke as they drove south between Garden and Milpas.

Crews said they put it out fast, but investigators are still trying to determine how it started.
