Sheriff’s office identifies man killed in crash along Gaviota coast

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office has released the name of a man killed in a crash near the Arroyo Hondo Preserve Monday.

The sheriff's office said 51-year-old Shawn Lyle Osborn of Santa Barbara was killed when his Jeep Wrangler crashed into a hillside near the entrance to the nature preserve.

Osborn was the only person in the vehicle at the time. He died from his injuries at the scene of the crash.

Traffic was slowed in the area at the time of the crash.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Anyone with information about the circumstances leading up to this deadly crash should contact the CHP Santa Barbara Area office at 805-967-1234.
