SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- A pit bull diagnosed with cancer is looking for a forever home.

The adoption event is called 'Meet Sammy Boy' and it will be at the George Pet Shop in Montecito on Saturday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Sammy is an 8-year-old rescue pit bull who has lived at Camp Canine for three plus years.

Sammy was recently diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma, cancer of the blood vessels. Caretakers are awaiting further treatment advice from his veterinarian.

The 65 pound pup is described as the sweetest and most loving boy with a great deal of enthusiasm.

Ryan Colket, a long time rescue advocate, says he becomes best friends with everyone he meets.

Sammy loves being outdoors which includes long walks, short hikes and lying in the sun.

The event will let you meet Sammy and see if you and him are a good fit to be forever pals.

For more information on Sammy, you can email ryan.colket@icloud.com.
