Dehydrated mountain biker airlifted from Gaviota Peak Trail

GAVIOTA, Calif. - Santa Barbara County emergency personnel responded to a dehydrated biker near Gaviota Peak Sunday afternoon.
Around 1:04 p.m., County firefighters received a call about a distressed mountain biker on Gaviota Peak Trail.
An engine crew responded to the area along with County Air Support Copter 4 which had two County Fire paramedics on board.
Upon arriving, crews found the mountain biker suffering from dehydration while attempting to bike to Santa Barbara.
The biker was hoisted into Copter 4 and flown to County Fire Station 38 in Gaviota where an AMR ambulance was waiting to take them to the hospital for further treatment. The biker's current condition is unclear.
