Santa Barbara man arrested for alleged drug sales, gun possession

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- Santa Barbara police arrested a suspect involved in the sale of narcotics and gun possession on Sunday.
On Sunday at around 7:40 p.m., a police officer was on patrol in the area of 200 North Quarantina Street when they noticed a car committing a traffic violation.
The police officer performed a traffic stop and during their conversation, the driver provided a false name to the officer, according to the Santa Barbara Police Department.
After further investigation, the driver provided his correct name. Police identified him as a 30-year-old Santa Barbara man.
The man said he did not want to provide his true identity out of fear of a potential arrest.
The man was driving on an expired driver's license.
During a search of the car, officers found drug paraphernalia, live ammunition, credit cards and a large amount of money.

Police said the credit cards did not belong to the man.
A police dog on scene found the narcotics in the man's car. Police located heroin, a large amount of methamphetamine and cocaine. hey also found a stun-gun and a replica firearm.
The man was taken into custody and was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail for possession for cocaine sales, methamphetamine sales, stun-gun, ammunition, drug paraphernalia, transportation of cocaine and methamphetamine, and false identification to a peace officer.
He is being held on a $35,000 bail.
