Vigil held at Santa Barbara County Courthouse for RBG
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - A vigil took place for Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg at the Santa Barbara County Courthouse Saturday night, the day after she died from complications of pancreatic cancer.
She was only the second woman ever appointed to the Supreme Court and served for 27 years.
Some mourners held candles as they watched images of RBG projected on the courthouse wall.
Participants were reminded to socially distance to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Ginsburg's death at the age of 87, before a presidential election, has sparked partisan debate about the timing of the political process to fill her seat.
