Two killed after plane headed to Santa Ynez crashes in Van Nuys

VAN NUYS, Calif. -- A plane that crashed in Van Nuys was enroute to Santa Ynez Airport on Friday.

According to preliminary information from the Federal Aviation Administration, the single-engine Navion B crashed after departing from the Van Nuys Airport.

The plane was reported to be on its way to Santa Ynez Airport in Santa Barbara County.

There were two fatalities reported.

NTSB is investigating the September 11, 2020 crash in Van Nuys, CA involving a Navion B aircraft.

The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.
