Carpinteria places new parking restrictions to discourage gatherings at beaches

Carpinteria Parking restrictions
City of Carpinteria

CARPINTERIA, Calif. -- The City of Carpinteria will implement new parking restriction to deter gatherings at beaches during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The City hopes these restrictions will discourage large gatherings and reduce the impact of visitors on residents.

The City will be enforcing a two-hour parking time limit on specific streets each Friday, Saturday and Sunday until further notice.

The parking limits will be placed on the streets of Beach Neighborhood and portions of the Concha Loma neighborhood. Residents of these neighborhoods will be provided with parking permits.

The City will also create "no parking" areas on some portions of downtown streets that are heavily used for beach access including Linden Avenue, Fifth Street, Palm Avenue, Walnut Avenue and Sixth Street.
