Earth Day Live moves celebration online

Earth Day is normally celebrated in a Santa Barbara park, but nothing is normal during the Coronavirus stay-at-home order.

That is why organizers are moving it online at

They will be the celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of Earth Day and the fiftieth anniversary of the Community Environmental Council at noon on Wednesday April 22.

The five hour program will include performances by some well known local talent including Jeff Bridges, Kenny Loggins, Michael McDonald, Glen Phillips. and many more.

Host Eric Cardenas said, " We are gonna take it online, and there, we will inspire each other, we will build community, we will take climate action to plot out the next 50 years of environmental protection."

Former Vice President Al Gore will also take part.
