Santa Barbara police looking for suspect in robbery, assault of female jogger

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- Santa Barbara police are looking for a suspect in an assault and robbery incident on Thursday.

The incident happened on Wednesday night around 9:30 p.m.

A female jogger was running eatbound on the 3800 block of Calle Real in Santa Barbara. During her jog, an identity-concealed male assaulted and robbed the victim.

The woman was able to fight off her attacker but he ran off with several of her belongings.

Officers and Detectives are looking into leads and attempting to obtain video of the area.

The investigation is still ongoing.
