SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- CHP officers chased down a lone horse on Friday afternoon in Santa Barbara.

At around 1:00 p.m., CHP Officers Mann, Frazier and Thomas were located at Via Real and North Padaro Lane when they saw a horse wearing a saddle running by their location without a rider.

Officers Mann and Thomas got on their motorcycles and went after the horse while Officer Frazier looked for the owner.

Officer Thomas was able to get ahead of the horse and made himself seem bigger by raising his arms.

He was able to stop the animal on Via Real and Montecito Ranch Road.

Half an hour later, Officer Mann located the owner.

The owner said the horse bucked them off and ran away.

Due to the motor officers' quick actions, the horse and owner were successfully reunited.
