Pismo Beach Pier remains closed due to high surf

PISMO BEACH, Calif.- The Pismo Beach Pier remains closed due to high surf. High waves hit the pier and walkways near the ocean Wednesday night.

The waves today were still pretty high with a lot of flooding near the shore. On the walkway people had to deal with puddles and flooding.

Some visitors were upset they couldn't walk through the pier.

"That was one of my hopes but I understand the reason why and considering the way the waves are acting, it's probably a safe bet to do so," said Cain Aguilar visiting from Fresno.

Plywood and sandbags were placed at Pismo Beach to help prevent water going into the underground parking garage at one of the nearby hotels.
