Templeton Middle School lifts shelter in place after officers clear “unspecified threat”

TEMPLETON, Calif. – The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office said that staff at Templeton Middle School received word of an unspecified general threat on Monday morning.

Police said that students and staff were put on "shelter in place" and continued activities while law enforcement investigated and searched the school.

Around 1:00 p.m., Templeton Middle School was cleared to resume normal school activities following an exhaustive investigation according to the Sheriff's Office.

Due to its proximity to the middle school, Templeton Elementary School was also put on "shelter in place" for extra caution, according to police.

No credible threat was identified according to police, but law enforcement will remain onsite as a precaution.

This situation is still under investigation according to the Sheriff's Office.
