Planned burn underway in San Luis Obispo County near Creston
SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif. - A planned burn is underway in central San Luis Obispo County.
It began Wednesday morning near Highway 229 between Santa Margarita and Creston. Fire officials said crews would be burning around 340 acres of grass and crushed brush.
The smoke will be seen through the North County communities, officials warned.
The prescribed burn is being done to help reduce brush and prevent the spread of a wildfire.
CAL FIRE and the San Luis Obispo County Air Pollution Control District are collaborating for this burn.
